![]() Hushpuppy ![]() Neo |
Town: Elkins, West Virginia Deaf dogs: Hushpuppy and his brother, Catfish, came to us in May of 2001 as 4 month old puppies. They are Australian Shepherds. Hushpuppy is deaf with some vision problems, his brother is a hearing dog. These dogs have been wonderful companions. While Hushpuppy enjoys his brother's company, he's an independent sort and is more of the leader. Hushpuppy is very energetic, agile, and a beautiful runner. He's very responsive to hand signals and other non-verbal signals. We are very lucky to have such a great dog! Neo was rescued from a shelter in Florida by members of the deafdogs yahoo list. We adopted him in September, 2002, at the age of 4 years. Neo is a ham, knows his hand signals, is an intelligent and affectionate dog. He has some eye issues but sees well enough (to chase cats!). He has fit in well with our crew. Human companions: Laura Heuchan. Other pets: Catfish, Aussie; and cat Corndog. Email: lheuchan@verizon.net |

She acts, plays and looks just like a hearing dog. She is a delight to behold running and playing with her brothers and sisters. She is always happy and loves to snuggle with me while I sleep at night. I can't imagine life without my Lucy. She is a gift from God!"
